THE GREAT MONTAUK CLEANUP When: Saturday 4/21 @ 9AM – 1PM Where: CCOM Office, 6 S. Elmwood Ave. Montauk
Concerned Citizens of Montauk, in partnership with Camp Soul Grow, EH Trail Preservation Society, Group for the East End, Imagination Nature, Mickey’s Carting, Montauk Brewing Co., Montauk Playhouse, Montauk School Student Council, Peconic Estuary Program, Surfrider Foundation, The Free Ride and Third House Nature Center, is hosting The Great Montauk Cleanup on Saturday, April 21st from 9am-1pm (rain date: 4/28).
Participants should stop by the CCOM Office for some hot cider and doughnuts and to pick up bags and gloves; then head off to clean up Montauk ocean and bay beaches, parks or anywhere that needs tidying.
With so many participating organizations, this year’s cleanup promises to be the biggest cleanup to date! Pitch in to help Keep Montauk Montauk!
FILM SCREENING: BAYMEN – OUR WATERS ARE DYING When: Saturday 5/19 @11AM – 12:20PM Where: Montauk Library, 871 Montauk Hwy.
Experience a 16mm film projection of the restored print of this 1976 documentary portrait of the clam diggers of eastern Long Island, whose traditions are still threatened by declining water quality. Following the film there will be a discussion about its significance, our water quality today, and what we can do now to improve our waters.
This event is FREE and WELCOME TO ALL
